We Here is privileged to announce book launch events for Knowledge Justice: Disrupting Library and Information Studies through Critical Race Theory, edited by Sofia Y. Leung and Jorge López-McKnight from MIT Press.

This April marks the release of Knowledge Justice: Disrupting Library and Information Studies through Critical Race Theory from MIT Press, the first book-length text that utilizes Critical Race Theory (CRT) in Library and Information Studies (LIS).  With contributions from 29 Black, Indigenous, and Peoples of Color scholars, educators and practitioners, the foundational principles, values, and beliefs of LIS in the U.S. nation-state are challenged, while also imagining possibilities for justice to be actualized in the now and beyond.

Hosted by the editors, Sofia Y. Leung and Jorge R. López-McKnight, this three part series of unveilings, experiences, and conversations will highlight each authors’ unique and meaningful contribution that gives necessary shape and form to the collection. Please join us all in community as these events are open to the public.

Contributors expected in attendance (does not include all book contributors): Miranda Belarde-Lewis, Jennifer Brown, Anastasia Chiu, Nicholae Cline, Anthony Dunbar, Anne Cong-Huyen, Isabel Espinal, Fobazi M.
